Previous Events
Since 1999 the GEM Appeal has held many events to raise money for the Willink Unit at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. These events have included the annual Summer and Winter Balls, raising money at the Trafford Centre, holding a Who Wants to be Millionaire Evening, a sponsored cycle ride, a sponsored walk, events held at Kirkholt Working Men Club and having runners in the Great North Run and Great Manchester Run.
In one event organised and run by Grace Mae Taylor's mum, Sarah and her family this annual fun day raised £1500.00 for the GEM Appeal on Sunday 24th August 2008. Vicky Binns (Molly) from Coronation Street also came along to help the day go with a swing. The weather was the best of the summer so far and played its part in helping the bowls tournament finish without disruption. Grace, who suffers from a rare liver disease, was involved throughout and presented the bowling trophies and prizes throughout the day.
