Millie's Mile Fun Run
On Sunday 28th February 2010 Preston North End goalkeeper, Andrew Lonergan and his wife Jenny organised a five mile fun run and a one mile walk around Preston docklands.
The one mile walk named "Millie's Mile" after Jenny and Andrew's daughter Millie, who attends the Willink Unit, was first to set off with an incredible amount of participants. The five mile fun run started as Millie's Mile finished with an equal amount of participants, with the winner finishing in just over 25 minutes. The weather was extremely kind with the sun shining through on what was a cold, clear day.
Over £1,000 was raised on the day with online and sponsorship contributions still to come in. Jenny thanked everyone who had taken part in the races and who had helped make the day possible.
